ORIGIN

Outer surface of inferior ramus of pubis

 

INSERTION

From below lesser trochanter to linea aspera and into proximal part of linea aspera

 

ACTION

Adducts thigh, assists in flexion, medial rotation of the thigh at the hip

 

INNERVATION

Anterior division of the obturator nerve  (L2-L3)

 

PRIMARY JOINT

Acetabular Femoral Joint (Hip joint)

 

KEY STRENGTH TRAINING EXERCISES

Isometric hip adduction using squeeze ball

Short adductor stretch

Seated hip adductor stretch

Hip adduction using resistance band

Groin pain during activity

Pain in the front of the outer upper thigh near the hip join
